A Scarifier utilizes a cutting drum with a high speed rotary action to flail the surface, creating a pulverizing or fracturing force leaving a clean, textured, or roughened finish. Scarifiers are also referred to as planers, milling machines, rotary cutters or simply surface-preparation machines. Scarifiers allow more precise cutting depth control than Scabblers and more removal capability than Shotblasters and Floor Grinders. These versatile machines can be used on virtually any substrate, but are primarily used to profile interior or exterior horizontal concrete surfaces. Various styles of interchangeable cutter assemblies are available for cleaning, grinding, profiling, light or heavy milling and coatings removal, and can be used virtually dust-free with our Innovatech Dust Collectors.
